Beforeyouconnecttheprintertoyourcomputer,makesurethattheprinter

isinproperworkingorder.Youcandothisbyprintingaconfiguration

label:

1. Makesurethemediaisproperlyloadedandthetopcoveroftheprinter

isclosed.Then,turntheprinterpoweronifyouhavenotalreadydone

so.

2. WhenthestatusLEDissolidgreen,pressandholdthefeedbuttonuntil

thestatusLEDflashesonce.

3. Releasethefeedbutton.Aconfigurationlabelwillprint.

Ifyoucannotgetthislabeltoprint,refertoTroubleshooting.

CAUTION:Thepowersupplybarrelconnectormust be

insertedintothepowersupplyreceptacleonthebackofthe

printerbefore connectingordisconnectingthe

Serial(RS-232)InterfaceRequirements

Therequiredcablemusthaveanine-pin“D”type(DB-9P)maleconnector

ononeend,whichispluggedintothemating(DB-9S)serialportlocatedon

thebackoftheprinter(refertoFigure31).Theotherendofthisserial

interfacecableconnectstoaserialportatthehostcomputer.Dependingon

thespecificinterfacerequirements,thiswillmostlikelybeanullmodem

cable.
